Digi vs P1

While i searching for internet service provider, i found that Digi is having great promotion for their broadband service. Their download speed is superb, min is 700kbps but can reach up to 3.6Mbps. And is confirmed by my friend where the average speed is around 1-2Mbps depending on area. The package Explore is priced at RM108 and currently they're giving out free modem. The quota given is only 10GB. But is good enough for average user like me with limited downloading of music and movie.
Sound impressive! But when i check the coverage, Dutamas area is not in yet. It is scheduled by next quarter.

My second choice will be P1. Too bad, the sale teams stationed outside guard house not there anymore. They claimed their speed can reach up to 1.2mbps for downloading. The usage quota is 20GB. More than Digi(10GB). But the downsides, need to pay for registration fee RM100, activation fee RM60 and modem is not free. Need to pay Rm99 (after discount, before RM199) somemore. But the monthly committment fee is RM99 only. And the contract is for 12months.

So comparing head to head, both are winners. Unfortunately, if you required the service now, i think P1 will be the only choice.

I decided not to consider Maxis because expensive (Rm138) with 3GB usage only. Celcom limited usage quota, 5GB only. Streamyx priced almost similar but speed unpredictable all the time and tends to lag when downloading.

You may comment if you think otherwise.

At the moment, Celcom, P1, izzi net and streamyx is useable in CV.

Streamyx is slow but useable, Celcom Broadband is hopeless here especially the RM68 package!

Correction on celcom website
its not http://www.celcom.net.my/. Its either www.celcom.com.my or www.celcom.com.my/broadband.
For me if you wanted the best ISP is kinda hard to find because every telco's have their own problem. Coverage issue, congestion, lag of system so on & so fort. At this moment I'm using celcom & the speed can get up 1.5mb average. For me its superb but still, I failed to play online with my PS3. And for others whom own XBox, Wii, PS3 etc & if u tried to play online with any broadband? try your luck. Its better if you targeting ISP that provide "secure connection" like Streamyx, but if you think streamyx kinda tuut. You can try others...as long as we get what we want. capiss

sound like you're one of the tech savvy.. do share your comment. On celcom braodband, may i know which block you're staying? i did try b4 in my unit in block B. kinda slow. any limitation on the usage?

no lah, i just love to explore that's all.u can chk coverage area from celcom.com.my/broadband. i'm from block c face to highway which is blocking the network into my house haha no wonder i can get full burst. if CV covered with HSDPA so better subscribe for RM98 or not dont waste money. limit 5gb/month & make sure ur app set to 3G only. if slow sometimes because of blocking issue or for those live at lvl 7 or 8 & above, that is basic thing for broadband & dealer didn't deliver this info. be4 i forgot, any updates about the ISP? cant stand anymore. can subscribe streamyx for my own ka?

O ok, If they successfully setup streamyx for every blok, the connection will be wired or wireless? the modem? & what is the chargers. do we need to top up on top of what we paid right now? just want to compare if i wanna to setup myself.
