Perspex for lift button

Vandalism is one of the issue that never goes ending. To combat this activities, a perspex was installed at lift in Block B. The missing button will be replaced next week.

The perspex for lift button is something good but I noticed that it was installed only in Block B lifts. Why?

In my humble opinion it is better to install CCTV cameras in lifts because that would be a better deterrent to vandalism. It is a long term investment. What JMB is doing now are all short term measures. They would cost more in the long run compared to CCTV.

Dear John,

Our main obj is to prevent vandalism. FYI, each time after replacing the missing button, another button will be removed within 1 week time. And the problem is found mainly in block B. And the cost of replacement is at least RM150 each.

We'll cont to monitor the situation and we choose not to act agressively as huge investment is needed. Proper planning is required to ensure money well spent.
